Service malfunctioned

I've been having an issue with your Bottom Quick Settings app, v6.1.5.
I am on an Android Pixel 6, running Android 12, build number SQ3A.220705.001.B2.
I've used BQS for years, on all sorts of devices, and it works most of the time on my Pixel device (Which is rooted), however after a number of device restarts, BQS ceases to function.
It works fine when it is first installed, however when this issue crops up, clearing the cache, clearing the data, uninstalling and reinstalling do nothing to abate the problem.
It appears the accessibility service (all the other services I run are fine), as it shows "Not working. Tap for info.", and when I tap on it, while BQS is enabled here, the information below states, "This service is malfunctioning."
Is this a bug you've gotten from others?
I'm able to send a logcat with all instances of "bottomquick" if that will help.
I've also emailed with more details than I've been able to put here, including what I've tried to fix it.

No update or bug fix from developer. Disappointed after paying for this wonderful application. Now totally useless since last 5 months

Nothing is being done on this unfortunately :( Dev hasn't reached out to me.

One more here with the same issue on Android 12, used it before on Android 6 with no issues at all.

same happened with my android 12. I was about to report this issue. but you described exactly with details.

I've had Android 12 for a while but it just started crashing a few days ago
In accessibility settings it says 'this service has malfunctioned'

Yesterday when I first saw this post, I was glad I don't have this issue myself.
Today I rebooted my phone and now I do have this issue too.. oh the irony...

I have exact the same problem under Android 12. Under Android 11 there where no problems. The problem occured after a reboot. The app is not usable anymore for me

Scott: after the update to Android 13 the app works again without any problems. I think a hard reset would have done the same
